Journey from ARISE student to Facilitator of Remedial Class

Deepti has been familiar with URMEE and ARISE since she was in 2nd standard at Zilla Parishad Primary School Bhoirwadi. Now she works as a facilitator for remedial classes in an ARISE project community.
After 7th standard, Deepti continued her education in another school but stayed in contact with the URMEE team for guidance. URMEE appealed for educational sponsorship for girls in ARISE and successfully supported their education. Currently, Deepti is in her second year of BCS in cyber security.
From Student to Facilitator
In the summer vacation of 2022, URMEE appealed to her to take responsibility as a facilitator for remedial classes. Initially not confident, URMEE’s training gave her conceptual clarity in mathematics and language, building her confidence. Though initially difficult to connect with children, she now has strong bonds as they eagerly attend her classes.
After college started, Deepti conducted evening classes. Low attendance was overcome through home visits and parent interactions. “It was great experience to hear positive comments from teachers and parents. Changes in children’s progress mattered to me.”
Full Circle Journey
“As a child, I never thought that when I grow up, I will again be a part of URMEE and ARISE. I am happy about this. I have shared all the knowledge that I gained from ARISE project… I will teach the children that everything is possible if they try. Since its inception the ARISE project has given me more than I need!”
Deepti’s journey from student to facilitator highlights the power of education and mentorship, showcasing how ARISE empowers individuals to give back to their communities. Like Deepti, many more girls are part of ARISE’s empowering journey.
